Meet The Stickler

The need for perfection and order. Organization taken too far. It makes you and others around you uptight. It zaps you and others of energy and causes you to take extra measures for perfectionism that are not necessary. Or you can get stuck in creative procrastination. Can make others around you feel inferior. Can cause you to live in constant frustration with yourself or others over things not being perfect enough.

Stickler’s self-justifying lie (promise): Perfectionism is always good, and you don’t pay a huge price for it so why does it matter? I can bring more peace and joy to your life by really making perfect order and quality.

How: Tries to make everything perfect

Looks like: Anxiety because things are constantly not perfect or are out of order, not organized. Can look controlling.

Feels like: Running yourself too thin.

Consequence/Problem: Generates a ton of negative emotions around yourself and creates anxiety when it’s not achieving the peace of mind the stickler promised you.

The Stickler - Can cause you to live in constant frustration with yourself or others over things not being perfect enough.
